The lock body is also arranged at right angles for more convenient locking and greater range. The tube is made up of several components: the 4 millimetre thick steel chain, the gooseneck, the foam cover and a durable coating made of IvyTex fibres. The steel chain is made of specially hardened steel. The term "gooseneck" refers to two metal spiral springs wound together that ensure the dimensional stability of the lock. This allows the lock to be bent into the desired shape and wrapped tightly around the bicycle frame. The foam ensures the unmistakable feel of the lock and rattle-free transport. The Right Combo for Proper Security
This lock is easy to use, equipped with two-component molded digit tumblers that ensure the digits are permanently visible. The complete plastic coating of the lock body and the distinctive textile tube of the chain prevent damage to the bike.

The Steel-O-Chain™ 9809K Chain Lock provides great protection against theft with an XPlus locking cylinder specially developed by ABUS The ABUS XPlus cylinder built into the lock body is even more picking-resistant than its predecessor and offers excellent protection against manipulation of the bicycle lock. The 9-millimetre square chain as well as the housing and structural parts of the locking mechanism are made of specially hardened steel. The lock has been awarded ABUS security level 12 out of 15. The Adaptor Chain Classic is the successor to the proven ACH 2.0 and features a newly designed oval loop ring for easier routing through spokes or tight gaps. Used with a compatible frame lock, it adds a second layer of security by allowing your bike to be secured to fixed objects like bike racks or lamp posts. Simply loop the chain around the object and plug it into the frame lock or Alarmbox 2.0, no extra key required. The same frame lock key secures both components for seamless use. The ADAPTOR CABLE is a high-quality steel cable which, when connected to an existing ABUS frame lock, or bike rack (Thule and KUAT) serves as additional security for your bicycle or for various accessories. Style meets safety: the ADAPTOR CHAIN Superior is the stylish successor to the ACH IVY and features a newly designed, oval metal loop ring that provides 360° flexibility when connecting.

Thanks to its narrow shape, the ring is particularly easy to guide through spokes or narrow gaps. In combination with the 360° flexibility, this results in particularly convenient handling. An additional coating on the ring provides effective protection against scratches.
Although an already fitted frame lock reliably locks the rear wheel, it does not prevent the bike from being carried away. The Superior plug-in chain is therefore the ideal addition for securely attaching the bike to fixed objects such as lamp posts or bike racks - for double security. The chain is simply placed around the object and inserted into the additional lock body of an ABUS frame lock or the Alarmbox 2.0. An additional key is not required – the frame lock key opens and locks both components.
